Dr. Xin Huang and Trainee Bikalpa Ghimire receive McPherson Eye Research Institute GSSI award

The McPherson Eye Research Institute has awarded Associate Professor, Dr. Xin Huang, and graduate student, Bikalpa Ghimire, the 5th annual David G. Walsh Graduate Student Support Initiative (GSSI) award. Funded by David G. Walsh Research Fellowship Endowment Fund, the award provides MERI members 1-year grants of $12,000 to support graduate student research. 

The X. Huang lab seeks to understand the neural mechanisms underlying visual perception and visually guided behavior. Ghimire focuses on neural mechanisms underlying visual perceptual organization, and his thesis title is “Mechanistic investigation of motion segmentation and integration.”
